Carmine Falcone Sunglasses
Identifying the sunglasses worn by Carmine Falcone
Sources suggest the sunglasses worn by Carmine Falcone (played by Actor John Turturro) in the film ‘The Batman’ are a pair of Persol RATTI 69202. These vintage sunglasses were handmade in Italy in 1987, and feature a classic Wayfarer style. The stark orange/amber lenses and bold acetate frames are classics of that era and have remained in popularity since. Unfortunately, due to the age of these frames, Persol no longer produces the RATTI 69202s. That being said, alternatives, in a similar style, do exist from Persol including the PO3272S in Havana.
It must be mentioned that Persol, since its acquisition by Luxottica, isn’t the brand it once was as the quality of its eyewear has taken a significant dip over the years. It’s best to avoid Persol glasses in their current form as they’re often overpriced and not worth the high price tags. Vintage RATTI 69202 can still be frequently found on secondhand platforms like Etsy and eBay and usually sell for anywhere between $300 – $500.
