In fact, Kuwahara himself was recently named by Brilliant Magazine as one of the “100 Most Important People in the Eyewear Industry” – a great achievement to have.
His designs can simply be described as minimalist with dark tones and bold outlines and what is called by Kuwahara himself as a ‘distressed look’. The look of distressed jeans or worn boats are some simple images that can encapsulate the aesthetics Blake Kuwahara try and replicate – but in glasses form. I a big fan of Blake Kuwahara’s range of designs. They unique, but also contemporary in the sense that they take a unique disposition without going too far down the rabbit hole of bizarre or odd-looking (like many brands seem to do). A top pick for me is the Becket with both an angular and round shape the glasses
Glasses from Kuwahara seem to start at around $650.00 and range upward from there. Considering the reputation Kuwahara has I’m not surprised at this price. I’m not saying that glasses that this price range should be justified, nevertheless, considering the quality of design, material choice, and, again, the reputation of Kuwahara himself is not bad compared to other brands similar to this price tag.
