Tom Holland Glasses

A Look at the Eclectic Range of Eyewear from Hollywood Star Tom Holland

Tom Holland is an English actor born in 1996. He first gained recognition for his role as Billy Elliot in the stage musical adaptation of the same name. In 2015, he was cast as Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making his debut in “Captain America: Civil War“. Since then, he has starred in several Marvel films, including “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, “Spider-Man: Far From Home”, (in which he also wore the famous Edith Glasses), and “Avengers: Endgame”. He has received critical acclaim for his performances and is considered one of the most prominent young actors in the film industry today.

Although Holland isn’t known for his fashion, he is, according to the Daily Mail, blind as a bat. He reportedly said: ‘I have very bad eyesight so I wore very thick glasses. There was a moment when I got contact lenses for the first time in high school and my life changed”. Despite the change to contact lenses Ton has clearly found solace in this eyewear and is rarely seen without a pair on this face.  Today we’re going to identify some of the brands of glasses worn by Tom Holland throughout his time in the spotlight. We’ll take a look at his preferred brands, and styles and point you in the right direction as to where you can get a similar look to this Hollywood star.

Tom Holland’s Sunglasses Style

Although Tom Holland wears a variety of different branded glasses, he’s definitely a man of comfort in that he’s usually seen wearing glasses all in a similar style. Tom himself prefers to wear thick bold rimmed frames that act as a statement piece of the face usually opting for darker colored frames, usually black, but also natural colors like browns and tortoiseshell. Holland is also a big fan of contrasting lenses usually opting for colorful lenses that contrast the frame and pair with his clothing of choice.

Garrett Leight

Garrett Leight is an American eyewear designer and entrepreneur. He is the founder and creative director of Garrett Leight California Optical (GLCO), an eyewear brand that was established in 2010. GLCO offers a range of sunglasses and prescription eyewear, inspired by California’s culture, lifestyle, and landscapes.

Garrett Leight is by far Tom Holland’s eyewear brand of choice. Out of all the glasses mentioned in this article, Holland is seen wearing various different pairs of Garrett Leight glasses out of any other brand on the market. Ranging from Garrett Leight’s Ace – T47s, Hamptons, and Winward T44s, Holland has a vast collection of Garrett Leight glasses and I’d bet this is his top choice for his everyday eyewear. Garrett Leight can be purchased online from their official website with glasses starting at a price tag of around $250.00+

Lunetterie Generale

Lunetterie Générale is a Montreal-based design studio specializing in high-quality eyewear for everyday use. The atelier, founded in 2018 by designer Julien Couture, pays homage to timeless elegance and iconic symbols such as the Spitfire plane, and Route 66. Each frame is handcrafted in Japan with an unparalleled mastery of premium materials such as cellulose acetate and beta-titanium, ensuring that each pair is engineered to the highest contemporary standards.

Holland can be seen in many photographs wearing a pair of Lunetterie Générale Bon Vivant. These frames are handmade in Japan and feature high-grade acetate, feature palladium-plated hardware, and custom 7-barrel riveted hinges with hairline details. Again these frames are very much in Tom’s style with their bold chunky frames taking center stage of his face. The Bon Vivants can be purchased online for a price tag of around $450.00

Ahlem Eyewear

Ahlem Eyewear is a luxury eyewear brand founded by Parisian designer Ahlem Manai-Platt in 2014. The brand is known for its minimalist yet elegant designs, which draw inspiration from the classic French aesthetic. Ahlem Eyewear is handmade in France using high-quality materials such as Mazzucchelli acetate and Carl Zeiss lenses.

A photoshoot for GQ Magazine saw Holland wear a pair of Ahlem Marcadet Sunglasses. They are very distinctive due to their angular shape at the top of the frames, yet circular button section. These really pop with their all-black finish but are available in a range of different colors including green and brown. They are currently available to purchase through the Ahlem official website for a price of $525.00

David Beckham Eyewear

David Beckham Eyewear is a designer eyewear brand created by retired English professional footballer, David Beckham, in partnership with Italian eyewear company Safilo Group. The designs of the eyewear are inspired by Beckham’s personal style and his passion for both classic and contemporary fashion.

An obscure brand but one in which Tom has championed himself. During the  US version of GQ’s Man of the Year awards, Tom Rocked these rather stark pair of orange framed sunglasses. These have been identified as David Beckham’s glasses model DB 7046/S. With their thick-rimmed acetate frames, bold choice of color, and subtle metal accents these glasses really completed Tom’s look and further compliment his choice of attire during the event. These David Beckham glasses are still available to purchase but you will need to seek out one of David Beckham’s authorized retailers are they are not sold online. They come in at a highly affordable £138.00
